Compilation of GIS Outputs for Internal Use

2012 - Compilation of GIS Outputs for Internal Use

City of Melbourne

In 2012, Grace GIS supported the City of Melbourne by compiling, refining, and standardising a wide range of geospatial outputs for internal use. This project brought together multiple datasets, including building footprints, flood extents, land-use layers, and LiDAR-derived information, and harmonised them into a consistent, high-quality spatial framework.

Using advanced geoprocessing and quality assurance methods, we resolved discrepancies, improved positional accuracy, and prepared data suitable for integration across Council’s internal GIS platforms. The final dataset package improved accessibility, streamlined analysis workflows, and ensured that staff across different departments could rely on unified, science-driven spatial information.

This foundational work strengthened the City’s capacity for strategic planning, asset management, climate resilience assessments, and environmental modelling.

Consolidated using dataset harmonisation, QA checks, and spatial standardisation.
