High-Resolution Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) Mapping
2007 - High-Resolution Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) Mapping for Bayside City Council
Bayside City Council

In 2007, Grace GIS delivered a high-resolution Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) mapping dataset for Bayside City Council, providing one of the earliest detailed spatial baselines for the municipality’s urban environment. Using high-quality aerial imagery and precise geospatial classification techniques, we mapped key land-use components including impervious surfaces, tree canopy, green spaces, and water bodies.
The resulting datasets and thematic maps offered Council a clear, accurate understanding of the built and natural landscape, supporting evidence-based planning and environmental management. This foundational LULC layer has since informed long-term sustainability strategies, climate adaptation initiatives, and urban development assessments throughout Bayside.
Developed through high-resolution image classification and land-cover segmentation
