Mapping Speed Humps

In 2016, Grace GIS delivered a comprehensive mapping of speed humps across Hobsons Bay’s local road network. Using GPS surveys, spatial verification, and geocoding techniques, we catalogued the exact locations and attributes of each speed hump, producing a reliable dataset of traffic-calming assets.

The project supports road safety assessments, transport planning, and maintenance scheduling. By centralising speed hump data in a consistent, GIS-ready format, we enabled the Council to better analyse traffic conditions, optimise road upgrades, and maintain safety infrastructure more efficiently.
